about the artist

Clare Toraya

I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember—back when creating was pure joy, before self-doubt or comparison crept in. That fearless curiosity is what I still chase in my work today. My work is rooted in nature—its quiet beauty, its raw power, and the way it mirrors our own human experiences. Every piece is an invitation: to pause, to reflect, and to see the world a little differently. It’s not just art, it is a moment to yourself. That moment is a beautiful addition to any living space.

My Art: Oil painting is my medium, but creating is my purpose. I explore the interplay of technical skill and composition, crafting scenes that invite both calm and contemplation.

I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember—back when creating was pure joy, before self-doubt or comparison crept in. That fearless curiosity is what I still chase in my work today. I studied Applied Arts at San Diego State University, where I honed my craft and fell in love with oil painting. Just before graduation in 2020, one of my pieces was selected for a gallery show—a milestone that should have been a celebration.

But the pandemic silenced that moment, leaving my work unseen and my graduation unmarked. Life took me back to my small hometown in Northern California, where I became a high school art teacher. I designed a four-year program to help students break free from self-censorship, embrace their creativity, and build the skills to express themselves boldly.

Watching them grow was incredible—but over time, I realized I wasn’t following my own advice. While teaching them to take risks, I had stepped away from my own artistic journey. I stopped submitting to galleries, stopped pushing my work into the world.

How could I ask them to be brave if I wasn’t doing the same? This website is my return—to creating fearlessly, to sharing my art, and to making my students (and myself) proud. It’s a promise to keep exploring, to keep evolving, and to finally show the world what I have to offer. I dedicate this journey to my students.

FAQs

What is the typical turnaround time for a design project?

The turnaround time for a design project varies depending on its complexity and scope. For smaller projects, such as logo design or social media graphics, you can expect a turnaround time of 1-2 weeks. Larger projects, such as complete branding packages or UI/UX design for a website, may take 4-6 weeks or longer. We always strive to meet deadlines and will provide you with a detailed timeline during our initial consultation.

How do you ensure the designs align with my brand and vision?

We begin each project with a thorough discovery phase, where we gather information about your brand, target audience, and design preferences. This may include questionnaires, meetings, and reviewing any existing brand materials you have. Throughout the design process, we maintain open communication, provide drafts and revisions, and incorporate your feedback to ensure the final design aligns perfectly with your vision and brand identity.

What is your process for handling revisions and feedback?

We believe in a collaborative design process and welcome your input at every stage. After presenting the initial design concepts, we offer multiple rounds of revisions based on your feedback. You can provide detailed comments and suggestions, and we'll make the necessary adjustments to ensure the design meets your expectations. Our goal is to create a final product that you are completely satisfied with, and we will work closely with you to achieve that.

What types of files will I receive upon project completion?

Upon completion of your project, you will receive all the necessary files in various formats to suit your needs. This typically includes high-resolution files in formats such as PNG, JPEG, and PDF for print and web use. For logos and other vector-based designs, you will also receive files in AI, EPS, and SVG formats. If you require any specific file types, please let us know, and we will accommodate your requests.

Do you offer ongoing support and maintenance after the project is completed?

Yes, we offer ongoing support and maintenance services to ensure your design remains effective and up-to-date. Whether you need minor adjustments, additional design assets, or advice on implementing the design across different platforms, we're here to help. Our goal is to provide long-term value and support for your brand, ensuring that your visual identity continues to evolve and stay relevant.
